The tale of love
Must be heard from love itself
For like a mirror it is both mute and expressive
~ Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi (1207–1273)
Because I love
There is an invisible way across the sky
Birds travel by that way, the sun and the moon
And all the stars travel that path by night
~ Kathleen Raine
Your Emotional Center:
Human beings are transformers of subtle energies, and within all of our bodies are energy centers that reflect the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual harmony of our life.
Every idea, thought, and experience that we have had in our life flows through and is filtered by these energy centers or chakras. Your emotional center is located about 2 inches below your navel, and it is your second or sacral chakra. It is were your physical body connects to your emotional body.
Your sacral chakra is the center of feeling, sexuality, creativity, and finances. All issues of one-on-one relationships are focused in this energy centers. When your sacral chakra is unblocked you will have an easy free flow of creative, emotional, and sensual and energies in your body.
Phylameana lila Desy has written an insightful article on the Sacral Chakra here
Opening and Healing Your Sacral Chakra:
A simple technique for opening and healing this energy center is from Japanese jinn-shin practice, and is excellent to move energies within your body and to open your senses:
Place your thumb and first finger together. Find the soft spot on your hand which is located on the hump formed by joining the 2 fingers. Press it gently with the thumb of your other hand and then breathe easy and comfortably, taking several easy and deep breaths while you press.
This practice will allow you to move blocked emotional and sexual energy, as well as relaxing your body. Do this several times a day for a couple of weeks, and you will notice a real improvement.
Sacred Relationship ~ The Mystery that Heals
The path of sacred relationship, where the relationship between the two partners is part of the experience of growing closer to the divine in all things. We all desire to have a relationship that is a vibrant growing center of love, intimacy, and caring. We all have a desire to have a union with another that expresses passion, pleasure, and playfulness.
All spiritual traditions have taught this, sometimes it is lost upon the way, other times it is just left by the side of the road awaiting rediscovery.
A Jewish perspective of this may be found in the teachings of Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi who says about sexuality “Don’t leave God out of it”
In the east there is the tradition of tantra which teaches that all the senses may be used as tools for awakening and transformation. An excellent introduction to this way is contained in the article by Diana Daffner entitled “Tantra: What is Tantra?”
One of the western teachers of the trantric way is Margo Anand who defines tantra as:
“I would say that tantra is a path that opens a person up to the possibility that sexuality can be a door to higher states of consciousness. And another definition I have is that it is a way to weave the many contradictory aspects of your personality into one unified whole for the purpose of the expansion of your consciousness. The beauty of tantra is that it is a spiritual path that teaches about enlightenment, yet it is one of the rare spiritual paths that actually does not leave sexuality out but teaches that sexuality can be a door to personal illumination or waking up. Many, many spiritual traditions, as you know, especially Christianity, have taught that in order to achieve enlightened states, you have to let go of sexuality or you have to consider that it's of the lower realms. You have to just be "above the belt." What is "below the belt" is just not to be dealt with. So that's why I appreciate tantra. It's an approach of the whole person that includes everything.” ~ Margo Anand
How do we look for that sacred relationship? The intuitve counselor Jodie Foster has written a beautiful and insightful piece entitled “Finding your True Partner”
And as the Poet Sings:
In the place my wonder comes from
There I find you
Your face shines in my sky
In your heart where the world comes from
There you will find me
Your eyes dance in my mind
Come with me
We will sail on the wind
We will sway among the yellow grass
When you be beside meI am real
Though my eyes be closed forever
Still I would find you
You shine across my time
Come with me
We will sail on the wind
We will sway among the yellow grass
When you be beside me I am real
In the place my wonder comes from
There I find you.
Wishing you all love, intimacy, joy passion and playfulness in your relationships,
Christopher
